Slightly above average food. Atmosphere is typical of a small old Japanese restaurant in one of LA's most popular tourist spots. It's location in the village is the real reason to go there to take in the local Japanese gift shops. Overall, a good stop on your visit.

My Kyokushin Karate Sensei introduced me to Kagaya and my life has never been the same. Located in Honda Plaza, across from Office Depot in Little Tokyo, Kagaya is a small quaint secret. Reservations are highly recommended. It’s unlikely that you’re going to get seated without a reservation. Kagaya isn’t cheap, but entirely worth it in every aspect. Be prepared to have all your senses delighted with a multiple course meal. Hands down, Kagaya has no competition when it comes to authentic Japanese Shabu Shabu.
